Medieval Lutes

There are no extant medieval lutes.

Therefore, my instruments are based on 14th and 15th century iconographical sources.

The very attractive 15th century pear-shaped lutes, based on the Pythagorean theorem, are available with 4 or 5 courses.

Various models are available with two different string lengths:

55 cm

Enabling high tuning: d, g, c', f', b'.
A fourth lower is also possible.

61 cm

The tuning would probably be A, d, g, c', f'.
Other common tunings are possible as well.
